Custom Banners Make Sweet Music
Now that summer is in full swing with long days and warm nights, so too are bands hitting the road for the annual summer concert season. Seeing a concert in the summertime is great because the shows are usually outside, which is much more fun, at least in my opinion, than seeing a show inside a coliseum of arena. I love the summer concerts that I either attend with a big group of people or that I am lucky enough to hear all of my favorite tunes. Hearing all of my favorite songs is very exciting. I've been to a lot of concerts over the years, and I can honestly say that there is never any guarantee at any show that you will hear your favorite song. I will say, however, that it never hurts to have a good attitude and a little luck! In the following paragraphs, I am going to share with you three ways to increase your chances of hearing your favorite song at a concert. Remember, these are just suggestions and are by no means guarantees.
CARRY ALONG A VINYL BANNER
It kills me when I go to a show and I see a young kid or a teenager holding up a piece of poster board with the name of their favorite song written on it. I honestly don't think that a piece of poster board is enough to get the attention of the band on stage. Nowadays I bring with me a bright, shiny custom banner as a prop to get the band's attention. Vinyl banners are perfect for concerts because they're light, they roll up easily and they're waterproof. The fact that custom banners are waterproof is great because every now and then it will rain at a show, and even in those situations I still get to make my song request.
ATTACH YOUR CUSTOM BANNER TO LONG POLES ON EACH END
Vinyl banners are worthless if they can't be seen. Therefore, unless you are super tall, you are going to have to devise a way to get that custom banner up in the air above everyone else at the show. Lucky for you, I have a solution. Just include sleeve pockets on either end of the vinyl banner. These pockets allow you to affix metal or plastic poles to the vinyl banner so that you can then hold the banner up in the sky. This eliminates your height (or lack thereof) from playing a factor in whether or not you get to hear your favorite song.
CREATIVE BANNERS WORK THE BEST
I have found that using wild and crazy colors and lettering gives me a better shot at getting the band's attention. Similar to the male peacock, who raises his beautiful tail feathers as a way of attracting a mate, you want to get a band's attention with bright colors and fancy lettering. I once brought a with me to a show that was so elaborately decorated that the lead singer of the band singled me out from the thousands of people at the concert and told me I had a great custom banner. That was awesome!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU, FRIEND
So there you have them, my three recommendations for ways to get your favorite song played at a concert. These suggestions may not work, but they will definitely improve your odds. Now get out there and go to as many concerts as you can, and don't forget your !
