Two of my best friends recently got married after a wonderful 6 years of companionship. It worked out so great that they live in Charleston, South Carolina...the number 4 destination wedding hotspot in the country! There are tons beautiful and unique wedding venues right there in the very town they lived in!
After considering a quaint wedding at one of the local plantations, a garden wedding outside a historic mansion in the heart of downtown, or a fancy southern wedding at a ritzy hotel, they at last decided on a wedding on Folly Beach.
They rented a gorgeous beach house away from the part of town where all the tourists hang out. It was serene, and the weather on their wedding day was perfect.
There certainly were a lot of perks to their decision to have their wedding at a beach house. First, for the same price they would have paid for a traditional venue, they were able to rent the house for a whole week, giving their families from out of town a place to stay at no additional cost. And the beauty of this type of wedding is they were able to provide their own food, drinks, and decorate as they pleased. There were no minimum requirements or overpriced drinks like all other venues would've charged.
On the other hand, though, the house was a little difficult to find or distinguish from the other beach houses on that same street. So they made a decision to purchase a custom banner announcing their nupitals. The sign simply stated "Casey and John are Getting Hitched!" along with the date of their wedding.
This vinyl banner not only helped guests identify the location of their wedding, but it stirred up quite a bit of excitement for all those staying at the house all week leading up to the wedding!
