On Tour With Custom Banners
June, July and August are, in my book, the best months of the year to see a great outdoor concert. Summer is a great time to see a concert because outdoor venues allow concertgoers the freedom to take up a little more space and act a bit more crazy than they would if they were inside an arena or coliseum. My favorite summer concerts are those that I either attend with a large group of friends or those in which my favorite songs are played. Going to a show with a group of friends is great, but it's nothing compared to hearing all of my favorite songs. Hearing a particular song is never guaranteed. It never hurts to have a little luck, though! In the following paragraphs, I am going to share with you three ways to increase your chances of hearing your favorite song at a concert. Remember, these are just suggestions and are by no means guarantees.
CARRY ALONG A VINYL BANNER
So often when I go to concerts I see innocent children and eager teenagers holding up poster boards on which are written the names of the songs they want to hear. I honestly don't think that a piece of poster board is enough to get the attention of the band on stage. For the concerts that I have attended this summer, I have been bringing with me a large custom banner with the words of my favorite songs written in bold, shiny lettering. A custom banner is a great concert prop because it rolls up and travels easily into the venue; and, custom banners are made of vinyl, which is waterproof. This means that even during those nasty summer rainstorms, when poster-boards disintegrate at the hands of the falling water, a custom vinyl banner is still able to notify the band of your song request.
ATTACH YOUR CUSTOM BANNER TO LONG POLES ON EACH END
Custom banners don't serve much purpose unless they are high enough in the air for the band to see them. Thus, creativity is a necessity when making song requests with a custom banner. Lucky for you, I have a solution. Just include sleeve pockets on either end of the vinyl banner. These pockets allow you to affix metal or plastic poles to the vinyl banner so that you can then hold the banner up in the sky. This eliminates your height (or lack thereof) from playing a factor in whether or not you get to hear your favorite song.
CREATIVE BANNERS WORK THE BEST
This may sound dumb, but through my research I learned that the crazier the combination of colors I included on my custom banner, the more likely I was to get a band's attention. After all, you have to do everything you can to get the band's attention. I once brought a with me to a show that was so elaborately decorated that the lead singer of the band singled me out from the thousands of people at the concert and told me I had a great custom banner. That was awesome!
GOOD LUCK
So there are my three recommendations. These suggestions may not work, but they will definitely improve your odds. Now get out there and go to as many concerts as you can, and don't forget your !
